somesay

Terms of use

Effective 26 October 2026

These terms cover the somesay iPhone app and the website getsomesay.com. somesay is a free app made by Dmytro Tkachuk.

The app

The app is licensed to you under Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. These terms add a few points specific to somesay. If they conflict, Apple’s agreement applies.

Your content

  • You choose what to add to somesay, and you’re responsible for having the right to use it. somesay is for listening to text for your own use.
  • Your articles and audio stay on your iPhone. I never receive them, so I can’t recover them if you delete the app or lose your device without a backup.

The downloadable voice

The optional natural voice is downloaded from Hugging Face and runs on your iPhone. It and the app’s other third-party components are provided under their own licenses, listed in Settings > About > Acknowledgements. Don’t use somesay to pass generated speech off as a real person speaking.

No warranty

somesay is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Importing and speech are imperfect: some pages won’t import completely, and words may be mispronounced. To the extent the law allows, I’m not liable for any loss arising from using the app or this website. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be waived.

The website

You may link to getsomesay.com and use the somesay name and icon to write about the app.

Changes

I may update these terms. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date.
